Our Apprenticeships & Traineeships in Queensland

As in all things, the Department of Transport and Main Roads Queensland is progressive in the way we approach our careers sector. In keeping with this, we offer full and part-time apprenticeships and traineeships that will allow you to combine work and study with the ultimate aim of helping you secure your ideal position.  

Traditionally known as 'earn while you learn' schemes, an apprenticeship or traineeship will lead to a nationally recognised qualification and a rewarding career with the Department of Transport and Main Roads. Apprenticeships with Main Roads are coordinated through our Regional Offices and you can view these vacancies on Queensland Government jobsite - smart jobs.

RoadTek, as a major provider of road transport infrastructure solutions throughout Queensland, does offer these types of roles:

Roadtek Apprenticeships are offered in the following fields:

• Electrical
• Fitter (Mechanical/Diesel)
• Plant Operator
• Construction

Roadtek Traineeships are available in

• Construction materials (soil/pavement testing)
• Construction
