Our Road Design Training Centre...

If your interest lies in road design then the Department of Transport and Main Roads would like to fast track your training and get you qualified and on the job faster - and we pay for your course expenses!

It all happens through our Road Design Training Centre.

What can the Road Design Training Centre offer me?

Established in Toowoomba in July 2006, the Road Design Training Centre provides an accelerated training program for road design cadets. Through the centre, cadets study an Associate Degree in Engineering (Civil), receive Transport and Main Roads specific training and gain practical, on-the-job experience.

Cadets are employed by the Department of Transport and Main Roads Queensland during the program and become qualified designers in just two years. We partner with the University of Southern Queensland to make it all happen.

What are the benefits of joining the Road Design Training Centre?

  1. The Road Design Training Centre uses cutting edge technology to deliver the very best in training.
  2. You will gain an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering in a minimum of two years and will be eligible for exemptions from two university subjects.
