Our Scholarships in Queensland

If you've got the motivation and enthusiasm to develop your skills through university study, The Department of Tranport and Main Roads Queensland has what it takes to help you cover the costs.

The Transport and Main Roads Scholarship Scheme is one of the best in Australia and is a great way to begin your career.

What are scholarships?

A Transport and Main Roads Scholarship essentially provides living, study and incidental expense allowances, paid employment during university holiday periods and a full-time job with us once you've completed your studies.

What career areas are scholarships offered?

We offer scholarships in the following:

• civil and electrical engineering 
• environmental engineering
• geographical information systems
• geology
• surveying
• technology 
• town planning

Am I eligible to apply?

To be eligible you must be a university student with a GPA of 4.5 or higher. You must be currently enrolled  in a recognised and relevant undergraduate degree with an Australian university. You must also be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.

If you wish to register your interest in future scholarships, please fill out an enquiry form and your details will be considered when these opportunities arise.

When are scholarships offered?

Scholarship applications are called for in the final six months of the year prior to the start of the next academic year. We have now closed the Scholarship intake for 2009
